Avoid these 7 blogging mistakes

If you are the kind of person that has a lot of ideas about a certain topic, or you want to share observations and experiences or simply are looking for an audience blogging is your best friend. If done right, not only can blogging be a great way to earn some money but a great outlet for you to impact people’s lives.

So if you wish to start writing blogs, avoid these 7 killer mistakes.

Don’t bore the audience

One of the biggest mistakes new bloggers make is writing boring content. This is due to the fact that they approach writing in general as a homework assignment. Even if you blog about a super serious topic make it fun! It’s not going to hurt, trust me.

Too much text

New bloggers generally are existed about starting a blog, so they write, write and write. This might be scary to a lot of your audience. I mean think about it you open a blog, see no white spaces just an endless wall of words. Worst still you scroll down and  the same story continues.

So pick what’s really relevant to your audience, don’t use 7 words when 4 would do just fine. After all there are no brownie points for hitting a certain word count.

Pursuit of Perfection

Aahh!!! That elusive mystery known only to a few, you are never going to be completely satisfied with what you write. So make a checklist, if it satisfies all your needs just post it.

Missing Visuals

There is a very good reason why even the most accomplished writers take the help of visual aids. Pictures and Gifs add another dimension to your work. They help break monotony and provide the reader with a contemplative distraction.

One Man(or woman) Army

How do i put this nicely?? I can’t, so here it is. STOP TRYING TO DO EVERYTHING ON YOUR OWN. Otherwise you just end up screwing up everything, take help. Outsource your visual work, ask friends to contribute to your piece.

Lets face it, you don’t drive blindfolded nor do you go to wrestle an alligator armed with chopsticks. Therefore if you wish to be a master blogger, learn to use Google analytics.

This would help you gain valuable insight on your audience, where do they come from, their ages and much more.

Not using Call to Actions

If someone has greatly benefited from your post, they are likely to share it and like it. So ask them do to so. They would be more than happy to oblige because they are smart, intelligent and beautiful people who care about making this world a better place.
